Well, it’s almost spring in Puslinch, ONT and that means that it’s time for me to once again think about what to do with our gardens. We currently have three gardens that are a slightly raised but need to be raised another 12 inches or so. We have a problem with our dogs jumping into the gardens and eating our vegetables! And we also have rabbits jumping in and decimating our lettuce.
I’m thinking of using some 2 x 6 cedar boards to build a raised bed but line the inside with plastic sheathing so that the wood is not in direct contact with the soil. I’m hoping that, combined with the natural rot resistance of Cedar will help the beds last a little longer.
